The Central Academy for Drama and the Commission launched a new educational project that aims to foster and celebrate artistic excellence, through exchange of outstanding students’ work coming from design programs from across the world.
The project comprises three aspects:
• Web page, presenting all schools, participating in the project. The webpage aims to create a database of students projects and to provide a source of inspiration and information for a wide range of students from across the world and from China.
• Exhibition of outstanding students’ projects. A collection of digital prints of the participating projects will be displayed at the venues of the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing in the last week of October 2011. CADC will invite one professor and one student from each participating school to attend the opening of the exhibit in Beijing.
• Practical workshop. A hands-on workshop will be held at the Central Academy in conjunction with the exhibit. The workshop aims to provide an opportunity for the visiting international group of students and their Chinese colleagues to meet and work together and produce a short experimental piece, that will be performed before students’ audience at one of the theatre venues of CADC. The spirit of the event is to bridge over national, cultural and language differences and to celebrate international language of stage design.
